Bringing Two Words Together to Create a New One
I enjoy making up new words every now and then.
The process of bringing two words together to create a new one is called "portmanteau." A portmanteau is a linguistic blend of words in which parts of multiple words, or their sounds, and their meanings are combined into a new word. A famous example is the word "brunch," which is a blend of "breakfast" and "lunch."
Here are three:
The act or process of nourishing or sustaining technology, typically through the provision of power, resources, or maintenance.
The state or condition of being nourished, fulfilled, or gratified by the use or interaction with technology, resulting in a sense of satisfaction, convenience, or enrichment.
The positive impact or benefits derived from the integration of technology into one's daily life, encompassing improved productivity, connectivity, entertainment, or overall well-being.
Example sentence: "In the modern era, individuals increasingly seek technourishment as they rely on smartphones and tablets to fulfill their informational and entertainment needs."
A business strategy that involves the use of extensive promotion, excitement, or "hype" to artificially inflate the perceived value or reputation of a product, service, or company beyond its intrinsic worth.
A socio-economic phenomenon where the popularity or success of a product, service, or company is primarily driven or significantly augmented by aggressive marketing tactics and public relations, rather than its inherent quality, utility, or market performance.
Example sentence: “The tech startup's initial success was attributed more to hypeflation than to its product's actual potential.”
Anonfluencer, a portmanteau of "anonymous" and "influencer," refers to an individual who actively participates in social media and other digital communication platforms to engage, inspire, and influence an audience, while intentionally concealing their true identity and personal information.
Unlike conventional influencers who typically embrace public recognition and personal branding, anonfluencers operate under a cloak of anonymity, utilizing pseudonyms or other methods to protect their privacy and maintain a distinct separation between their online presence and real-world identity.
Anonfluencers may gain a substantial following based on the content they create, the ideas they advocate, or the genuine connections they foster with their audience, all while avoiding the trappings of traditional fame and personal exposure. Their impact lies in their ability to resonate with others through the digital medium while upholding their right to anonymity.
